Exploring the Festive Faces Masskara Exhibit by Jojo Vito at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod

Amidst the hustle and bustle of mommy life, there are moments when you stumble upon something truly special that sweeps you off your feet. For me, one such moment unfolded on a sunny October 1 afternoon when I found myself standing at the entrance of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, about to embark on a memorable journey through art and culture—the Festive Faces Masskara Exhibit by the talented artist, Jojo Vito.

Unlike the lively Masskara drums that often reverberate through the streets during the festival, there was a serene calmness in the air as the opening began at the leisurely hour of 3 in the afternoon. As a mom, this afternoon escapade felt like a breath of fresh air, a momentary pause from the routine, and an opportunity to share something extraordinary with my family.

The atmosphere inside was brimming with colors and creativity. Intricately designed masks adorned the walls, each one telling a unique story. The presence of two former Masskara Queens, Jan Nicole Uy, and Agnes Marie Therese Chang, alongside Bacolod City Councilor Israel Salangga, added a touch of regal elegance to the event. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official start of this artistic journey, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder.

From Gilded Expressions to Festive Faces  Exhibit by Jojo Vito: An Artistic Odyssey

Jojo Vito, an artist deeply rooted in Bacolod City, had already taken the art scene by storm with his previous exhibit, “Gilded Expressions,” last March at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod. It was heartwarming to see how his artistic journey had evolved, and the success of that exhibit had set the stage for the grandeur we were now experiencing.

However, the spotlight of the day was undeniably on the “Festive Faces Masskara Exhibit.” As a mom, I could relate to the idea of evolution and growth. It was more than just a showcase of Jojo Vito’s artistic prowess; it was a tribute to the rich history, culture, and the ever-smiling spirit of Bacolodnons and Negrenses.
